Eisenhower Elementary and Leesburg Elementary were recently selected for the 2022 Indiana Wide World Award for Distinguished Dual-Language Immersion Programs. It was shared that numerous Indiana DLI specialists and IFLTA members nominated WCS for the award due to the two strong DLI programs serving as a reference for new and future programs throughout the state.
Nine of Warsaw Community School’s teachers and administrators traveled to Indianapolis to receive the prestigious state recognition at IFLTA’s (Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association) Global and Multil-IN-goal Celebration of Success Gala. “Receiving this award was an honor and a true testament of the time and effort that we have dedicated to offering this amazing opportunity to the students in our community," Nathan Polston, principal at Leesburg Elementary shared. “I am grateful for my team at Leesburg, Central Office administration, and the school board for their dedication and commitment to our K-12 Dual Language Immersion program. Developing and running a program like DLI takes a collaborative team effort from all stakeholders.”
“WCS is very proud of the recent state-wide award for our Dual Language Immersion (DLI) elementary programs,” stated Dr. David Hoffert, WCS Superintendent. “Both Eisenhower and Leesburg have become state and national leaders. A huge thank you to our teachers for their commitment to providing students with an opportunity for the gift of multilingual learning. We are thankful for the continued support as these programs develop to the next steps at the middle school and high school levels.”
